SKUMLOVE Signs To CANDLEPOWER RECORDS, Shares New Single, 'Blood And Roses'

October 30, 2026

Los Angeles-based industrial metal band SKUMLOVE has signed with Candlepower Records. On Halloween, SKUMLOVE's first single under Candlepower drops, a cover of "Blood And Roses" by the legendary band THE SMITHEREENS.

SKUMLOVE's founding member Skum Love comments: "The original song really touched my soul. The struggle between mental health and love plays a big part in many of our lives. Pat DiNizio was truly one of the world's best songwriters.

"I knew I wanted to do my own version of this song and it took many years to figure out the ideas that were in my head. I did not want to take away what he created, but add upon it without losing the message. I think we did it justice and opened the song to a new generation."

"Blood And Roses" was recorded at Michael Ciravolo's (BEAUTY IN CHAOS) Saints In LA studio in Sun Valley with production assistance from Kevin Kipnis. Mastering was completed by Grammy-nominated engineer Maor Appelbaum in Los Angeles.

"Blood And Roses" will be available on all major digital outlets on October 31.

SKUMLOVE is a Los Angeles-born collision of industrial, goth, post-punk, metal, and electronic music, built around frontman and creator Skum Love.

Emerging from the Los Angeles underground, SKUMLOVE began as a fiercely independent project and grew from homemade recordings and self-released CDs into a nationally touring act. Over the years, the band has shared stages with legendary artists including DANZIG, TYPE O NEGATIVE, PRONG, STATIC-X, FEAR FACTORY, MINISTRY, GODHEAD, SPINESHANK, COMBICHRIST and more. The band's catalog has also featured collaborations with musicians including Dino Cazares, Burton C. Bell, Tommy Victor, Tony Campos, Mark Gemini Thwaite and Michael Ciravolo.

After more than two decades underground, SKUMLOVE continues to evolve without abandoning its dark and uncompromising identity. Recent releases, including "The Dark", "Ego" and "Ride Or Die", reflect a band that continues to push the boundaries between dark, heavy, alternative music. Known for its theatrical, intense live experience and post-apocalyptic visual aesthetic, SKUMLOVE is still deeply connected to the underground while continuing to reach new audiences.
